This reading really made me think a lot about what type of writer I am. However, I feel that there would be great benefits if i was to draft my paper with my own world view leading my thought process. I think that by me being allowed to use my own thought process will give me the opportuity to really voice my opinions. I also think that another benefit would be that I may be able to make others think differently about something they thought was right all along. You maybe could make someone else see things from your point of view.
In many ways I do agree with Bizzell when she stated that the academic world view cannot coexist with other world views. I agree with her because it can be really difficult for someone to think two ways about one thing. Eventually the person will give in to one world view completely. I also agree with her because sometimes the views of two things can conflict with one another. However, I can also argue that students can keep their original world views during and after their education. I can argue that because the student could take things from both worlds and combine them. I think that by the student knowing both world views it will give them greater knowledge on the world alltogether.
I agree with being able to write in our own way because we will be able to have others see things from our point of view and we could reach people of our generation by speaking the same as they do.
ReplyDeleteI think that sometimes it can be difficult to keep both lives separate but at the same time, don't we do this every day? And I also agree that it will give greater knowledge to us if we do learn how to be successful in both worlds.
i agree with jaleesa a person would eventually give into one specific world view and not beable to balence both
ReplyDeleteI agree with you compeletly. I also think that by drafting our own papers we can become more creative. I think that is possible to both lives. However, at timees it may feel very overwhelming. Great job! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, not only writing your world views improve yourself, but you are also improving others as well.
ReplyDeleteYes, in a way a degree program sort of programs you to think about things a certain way. By the time you finish, sometimes applying new thinking strategies to old situations or viewpoints can be very unsettling when you realize all the things you've never considered before. It's kind of like walking around with your eyes super wide open! Good points, keep it up!
