1.) I read an assignment about 4 times for a paper before I begin writing my first draft. The benefit you could receive by reading the assignment is a better understanding of what is needed for you to do. I read the assignment once again after to make sure I have completed all aspects of the paper.
2.) I can apply the "Consider the Evidence" information to the drafting assignment of an Argument from Personal Experience paper to construct a wonderful concept to help me put personal experiences into my paper. I would be better if I use my own personal experience because would be able to vouch for myself with my feelings.
3.) The most useful information I got from the "Academic Writing is an Analysis" was how to pin-point important things for thr topic. I learned that those things will help me be more explainatory in my paper.
4.) The section "Three Characteristics of Academic Writing" and the Rubric both give me the tools needed for me to complete a proper paper. They are different by the information need for their outlines. One requires more specific details. The Rubric goes into more depth and is more specific about the information required in order for my paper to be successful.
I agreed with everything that you said. Whenever I do an assignment, I read it thouroughly and more than once to get a better grasp of the topic. And you were right about the information from "Academic Writing is an Analysis.
ReplyDeleteI think it's good to read over an assignment before writing, too. I have to read over it more than about 4 times because I always forget what I read and I want to make sure it's absolutely perfect. I agree that writing from personal experience makes it easier to write, too. That way, you can write exactly how you feel and not from just things you read, and you know first hand what it is. I got much help from the "Academic Writing is an Analysis" when they said to learn how to pin-point important things for the topic, too. It makes it less stressful when you know exactly what you're writing.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the 'Consider the Evidence" if you write with your feelings, it makes the paper more powerful and understanding when you support it with personal experience.
